Kevin McNamara from North Gower, Ontario Brings Home the Stanley Cup® AND Doug Gilmour!

Second and third place winners Paméla Bonneau and Nicole Langlois of the Bring Home a Stanley Cup ChampionTM promotion also awarded at-home visits with Stanley Cup® Champs Guy Carbonneau and Mark Messier

TORONTO, May 18 /CNW/ - The votes are in and the quest for the Stanley Cup® has finally come to an end for the three dedicated and passionate hockey-loving finalists of the Bring Home a Stanley Cup ChampionTM contest. Kevin McNamara from North Gower, Ontario has been crowned the grand prize winner after two weeks of intense campaigning. He will finally celebrate when the Ultimate Playoffs Party takes place right in his own home with Doug Gilmour and the Stanley Cup® itself!

"This is truly a dream come true, I never thought in a million years that I would be lucky enough to have the Stanley Cup and Doug Gilmour in my very own living room," says Kevin. "I want to thank my family, friends, my local community, and all Canadians in general who really came together to support and vote for me, and of course a huge thank you to Doug and to Pepsi, Lay's and Gatorade!"

Kevin's favourite Stanley Cup® Playoffs moment was being able to take his dad, his hero, to the 2007 Stanley Cup® Finals in Ottawa. Both Kevin and his dad are huge hockey fans and while his dad never had the opportunity to play his favourite sport, he sacrificed much for Kevin to be able to do so growing up. The two can now share a new hockey memory together, welcoming both Doug Gilmour and the Cup® into Kevin's home!

"Bringing the Stanley Cup to North Gower is truly an honour for me," says Doug Gilmour, Stanley Cup Champion. "This is my first year being involved with the Bring Home a Stanley Cup Champion program and I'm blown away by Kevin's passion for the sport and can't wait to meet, and share this special day with him."

Celebrations for The Bring Home a Stanley Cup ChampionTM contest will also take place in the homes of second and third place winners Paméla Bonneau from Acton Vale, QC and Nicole Langlois from St. Albert, AB. They will each have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to celebrate their hard work as well by experiencing an intimate at-home Playoffs Party in their own homes with their regional Stanley Cup® Champion along with friends and family.

"What is incredible about this campaign is that it rewards not just one, but three deserving Canadian hockey fans with unforgettable experiences," said Jason McDonell, Vice President of Marketing, PepsiCo Foods Canada. "On behalf of Pepsi, Lay's and Gatorade, we can't wait to see all three finalist's Playoff Parties come to life in their hometowns, and to bring the Stanley Cup® to North Gower!"

Each regional finalist was tasked to produce an inspiring and creative online video that explained why they deserved the votes of Canadians to Bring Home a Stanley Cup Champion and the Stanley Cup®. Over the course of two weeks, Kevin collected an impressive number of votes to secure his win.

"Canadians' love of hockey is no surprise and the total number of votes that came in for our top three finalists was remarkable" said Julie Raheja-Perera, Senior Director of Marketing, PepsiCo Beverages Canada. "Each of their celebrations will be a wonderful opportunity to bring family and friends together and our brands, Pepsi, Lay's and Gatorade, are so proud to a part of that experience."

"Congratulations go out to our grand prize winner, our two semi-finalists and to all those who played," said Kyle McMann, Vice President of Partnership Marketing, NHL. "Canada's passion for hockey has once again become evident through everyone's participation, and we are honored to be a part of a program such as 'Bring Home a Stanley Cup Champion' that so uniquely rewards that passion."

The Ultimate Playoffs Party with Kevin McNamara, Doug Gilmour and the Stanley Cup® will be held on May 21 at Kevin's home in North Gower, ON. Kevin's celebratory party will also be featured on TSN. The second and third place winner Playoffs Parties will take place towards the end of May and in June at their homes.
